The DS-SFP-FC16G-SW is a Cisco 16 Gbps Fibre Channel Short Wave (SW) SFP+ transceiver with an LC connector. It supports multimode fiber (MMF) with a wavelength of 850 nm and operates at speeds up to 16 Gbps. The transceiver supports various multimode fiber types including OM1, OM2, OM3, and OM4/OM5 with different maximum cable distances:
OM1 (62.5 microns): up to 15 meters
OM2 (50 microns): up to 35 meters
OM3 (50 microns): up to 100 meters
OM4/OM5 (50 microns): up to 125 meters

The device uses a short wave laser suitable for short distance links and is compliant with Fibre Channel standards for 16 Gbps operation. It has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C and storage temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The DS-SFP-FC16G-SW is hot-swappable and supports online diagnostics. In practical use, for example, with 50/125um OM3 fiber, it supports link lengths up to 100 meters. It is commonly used in Cisco MDS 9000 Series switches and directors for Fibre Channel storage networking.
