The FET-40G-RF is a professionally remanufactured Cisco FabricExtender Transceiver 40G module, designed for use with Cisco's Fabric Extender (FEX) technology to extend data center fabric connectivity to remote server racks. This 40G transceiver enables the QSFP+ interface connections required for FEX uplinks between the parent switch (such as Cisco Nexus 5000 or 6000) and FEX satellite switches, providing high-bandwidth server fabric extension across the data center floor.
